
Lake Ullswater, the second largest lake in the English Lake District is 7.5 miles long, and considered by many to be the most beautiful. It has a beautiful backdrop of mountain scenery on one side and a gently curving shoreline of green fields and magnificent woodlands on the other.
As well as the stunning scenery, endless beautiful trails and walks (including the legendary waterfalls of Aira and High Force), Ullswater offers many water activities. Boating, sailing, canoeing, wind surfing, fishing or a leisurely cruise on one of the famous Ullswater steamers. It is ideal for walking, cycling or touring, with golf and pony trekking also available locally.
Set in the Lake District National Park, Pooley Bridge is the attractive village at the northern end of lake Ullswater.
